2008 civics test · Question 30 of 100 · System of Government
If the President can no longer serve, who becomes President?
In Chinese 如果总统不能再履职,谁将成为总统?
Official answer
- the Vice President副总统
Why this is the answer
If the President dies, resigns, or is removed from office, the Vice President becomes President. This is set out in the Constitution and confirmed by the 25th Amendment. It has happened several times in U.S. history, which is why the Vice President is said to be first in the line of succession.
