2008 civics test · Question 57 of 100 · Rights and Responsibilities
When must all men register for the Selective Service?
In Chinese 所有男性必须在什么时候进行义务兵役登记（Selective Service）？
Official answers
- at age eighteen (18)18 岁时
- between eighteen (18) and twenty-six (26)18 至 26 岁之间
Any one of these answers is accepted unless the question asks for more than one.
Why this is the answer
The Selective Service System keeps a list of men who could be called to military service if the country ever needed a draft. Men must register when they turn eighteen (18), and the requirement covers men between 18 and 26. Registering is required by law, but it does not mean a person will be drafted.
