2025 civics test · Question 105 of 128 · Recent American History and Other Important Historical Information

Who was president during the Great Depression and World War II?

In Chinese 大萧条和第二次世界大战期间的总统是谁?

Official answer

  • (Franklin) Roosevelt(富兰克林·)罗斯福(Roosevelt)

Why this is the answer

Franklin D. Roosevelt (often called FDR) was elected in 1932 and served from 1933 until his death in 1945, longer than any other president. He led the country through the Great Depression with his New Deal programs and through most of World War II. He is the only president elected four times, which is why he was president during both events.
