2025 civics test · Question 24 of 128 · System of Government

How many voting members are in the House of Representatives?

In Chinese 众议院有多少名有投票权的议员?

Official answer

  • Four hundred thirty-five (435)435 名

Why this is the answer

The House of Representatives has 435 voting members. Each state gets seats based on its population, counted in the census every ten years, and every state has at least one. The total of 435 is set by federal law. D.C. and the territories have delegates who cannot vote on final passage of bills, so they are not included in the 435.
