In Chinese 美国在 1803 年从法国购买了哪块领土?

Official answers

  • the Louisiana Territory路易斯安那领地(the Louisiana Territory)
  • Louisiana路易斯安那(Louisiana)

Any one of these answers is accepted unless the question asks for more than one.

Why this is the answer

In 1803, during Thomas Jefferson's presidency, the United States bought the Louisiana Territory from France. This deal, called the Louisiana Purchase, covered a huge area west of the Mississippi River and roughly doubled the size of the country. Today the land is part of many states, not just the state of Louisiana.
