2025 civics test · Question 5 of 128 · Principles of American Government

How are changes made to the U.S. Constitution?

In Chinese 如何修改美国宪法?

Official answers

  • Amendments修正案
  • The amendment process修宪程序

Any one of these answers is accepted unless the question asks for more than one.

Why this is the answer

The Constitution is changed by amendments. An amendment is a formal change or addition to the Constitution, and the amendment process is set out in Article V. It is intentionally difficult: an amendment must be proposed by a large majority, usually two-thirds of both houses of Congress, and then ratified by three-fourths of the states.
