2008 civics test · Question 19 of 100 · System of Government
We elect a U.S. Senator for how many years?
In Chinese 我们选出的美国联邦参议员任期几年？
Official answer
- six (6)6 年
Why this is the answer
U.S. Senators are elected for six (6) year terms. The terms are staggered, so only about one-third of the Senate is up for election every two years. The longer term is meant to give the Senate more stability than the House, whose members serve two years.
