2008 civics test · Question 22 of 100 · System of Government
We elect a U.S. Representative for how many years?
In Chinese 我们选出的美国众议员任期几年？
Official answer
- two (2)2 年
Why this is the answer
U.S. Representatives are elected for two (2) year terms, so the entire House is up for election every two years. The short term was designed to keep Representatives closely accountable to the people they serve. Compare it with Senators, who serve six years.
