Why this is the answer

A governor is the head of a state's executive branch, much like the president is for the nation. Governors are elected by the voters of their state, so the answer depends on where you live and can change after elections. Give the name of your state's governor on the day of your interview, checked on your state's official website. Residents of Washington, D.C. should say that D.C. does not have a governor.
